Volume 2: Noor Jehan is an original hand-painted handbag created as part of the ongoing Nishan Collectible Series exploring memory, cultural identity, and the objects that become woven into our personal histories.
Inspired by another legend we carry with us throughout our lives, the piece draws on the enduring presence of Noor Jehan — her voice, her image, and the quiet ways her music and persona live on in everyday South Asian life. Familiar visual references and objects of daily culture come together here as markers of memory: reminders of the songs, the rituals, the small things that shape who we are and the heritage we continue to hold close.
This work continues the Nishan Collectible Series, an ongoing body of hand-painted pieces exploring cultural memory through art, storytelling, and everyday objects. Each volume explores a different chapter of memory, creating a growing archive of wearable artworks designed to be collected over time.
Every piece is painted entirely by hand using professional leather acrylic paints and sealed with a protective finish for durability and longevity.
