Hand Painted Mini Pouch-The One From Liberty

When I painted this piece, I kept thinking about how many memories can be tied to something as simple as a pair of khussas.

Growing up, there was always a pair waiting for a special occasion. Eid mornings, weddings, family dinners, dawats, birthdays. They were often one of the last things put on before walking out the door, but somehow they always felt like part of the occasion itself.

For me, khussas have always represented more than shoes. They remind me of getting ready with family, borrowing jewelry from my khala, trying on outfits one last time, and the excitement that comes before a celebration.

Featuring a hand painted khussa, this piece is inspired by those memories and the objects that quietly become part of our stories.
