I don’t think I’ve ever met a woman who only owned one pair of jhumkas.

Some are everyday favorites. Some are saved for weddings and Eid. Some are bought with absolutely nowhere to wear them. And somehow, there is always room for one more pair.

When I painted this piece, I thought about all the jewelry boxes, dresser drawers, and little pouches filled with pieces collected over the years. The pair borrowed from a sister. The pair gifted by a mother. The pair bought because they were simply too beautiful to leave behind.

Featuring a hand painted pair of jhumkas, this piece is inspired by the women who collect memories alongside the things they love.

Bas Yeh Wale is part of the Nishan Collectible Series, a growing collection of hand painted pieces inspired by cultural memory, nostalgia, and the everyday objects that become part of our stories.

Each bag is painted by hand using professional leather acrylic paints and sealed with a protective finish to help preserve the artwork over time.

Created to be used, collected, and kept, this piece is both an accessory and a small work of art.
